Luzhsko-Gdovskaya operation #003. Planning the main strike

The main blow in the operation was laid on the 11th division with the task of launching an offensive in the direction of Luga, Mshinskaya. The brigade of the 19th division, as well as the 8th and 9th regiments were left in the army reserve and concentrated in the Pskov area. So the plan of the operation was gradually formed at the front headquarters.

The issues of clarifying the start date of the operation and its depth still remained open. Moreover, it was only on October 23 that the front command asked the command to send new reinforcements in order to "complete the collapsed 19th Division, very battered parts of the 10th Division and provide timely replenishment of its operation." In the subsequent instructions, the start of the operation was scheduled for October 26. And finally, on October 24, the front command issued Directive No. 06657/op on a general offensive.

This, in essence, was the end of the design of the idea, the plan and the planning of the operation in the frontline instance. The subsequent directives of the front did not introduce new adjustments to the tasks assigned to the armies, giving them full initiative. Thus, front directive No. 06671/op of October 25 directed the command of the 15th Army about the enemy's transfer of the 9th Chudsky and 4th Gdovsky regiments from the Luga district to Petrograd and suggested using this moment to force a decisive blow, which, however, the army command did not take into account. Front Directive No. 121 /ld of November 1 noted the capture of units of the 11th division in the Luga district and, on behalf of the service, thanked them. Thus, the main document of the front command, according to which a general action plan was developed, was Directive No. 071/op of October 16. The telegram of the Comsapfront dated October 24 only confirmed the need for the 15th Army to launch the most decisive offensive in the Luga, Pskov area, without spatially indicating the ultimate goal of the operation. This could not but affect the setting of tasks for the units and in the army instance.

According to the conditions of the situation, the operation of the 15th army can be divided into three periods.

— Preparatory — from October 16 to October 26. This period consisted of measures for planning the operation: combat support of the initial area for the offensive, setting immediate and final tasks for divisions and carrying out regroupings of army units related to the operation.

— Military operations — from October 27 to November 3, until the 15th army units reach the line of Cholova, Luga, Lake Verduga, the mouth of the Lyuta River (river Bile).

— The last stage of the operation, which ends with the capture of Yamburg, Gdov and the withdrawal of army units to the Krivaya Luka line (18 km south of Narva), the mouth of the Narva River, Gdov. Watch UK online porn https://mat6tube.com/ Diana Dali, Patty Michova, Alina Henessy, Kira Queen etc.
